Hello Everyone!
Thank you for all your love and wonderful support!
In this blog are photos of my artwork and at the bottom of this entry is an explanation of my research :) The beautiful door structure was built by Steve and his father! SO great! :) Both Rachel and Mom were able to come and be a part of the special day :) It was such a great visit and surprise :)
I hope you are doing fantastic and enjoying Spring!
Love,

What are behind the doors?
Will there be something on the other side for me?
What will I do once I enter?
Am I prepared?
Doors
provide many challenges for the average person. They require motivation to be
opened or else they will remain shut forever. They demand determination in
order to find the correct key, knock as long as necessary, or continue on until
you find the door you need. Most of all, they require confidence in order to be
opened and allow the viewer to face the unknown on the other side. Through the
process of 6 different interviews with art therapists I came to the recognition
that the three qualities, of motivation, determination and confidence, were
evident in each of the participants’ stories of professional development.
As
I continued further into my research, now turning to my art for more in-depth
discernment, I came to find that each one of the doors in my series represented
a certain skill or lesson I had developed or acquired over my years in training
to become a professional. The individual process of each door’s creation
revealed five key components to therapy, to living healthy, and to my
professional development. These qualities were flexibility, humility, refusing
to give up through the practice of self-care, staying positive, and problem
solving.
